The men's indoor volleyball had a game against Italy. The fan base was great for the USA team, having some loyal followers and wearing players' names on the back of their shirts. The game was best out of 5. In Round 2, the score was 25-12 bringing Italy to 2-0 by the third round.

However, points proved tighter in the third round, always one or two points apart, bringing some hope for USA but they lost the third round. Italy won 3-0. The men's next game will be against Ghana on January 10.

Jason Jacubowski strategizes a move against his Iranian opponent, who is 26 pounds heavier, in the 96 kg division.

For the Greco-Roman wrestling in the 96kg division, Jason Jacubowski went up against Mahdi Safarisene for the bronze medal. A Russian was discovered to be hearing and disqualified from the finals, so Jacubowski was put back in the competition. Jacubowski had some good moves against his opponent, who proved to be tough himself. When the clock ran out, Safarisene was ahead of Jacubowski and he got the bronze. Nonetheless, Jacubowski did a great job representing USA.

Kill, spike, medal!
Watch Video Today was an exciting day for men and women's beach volleyball. The USA men's team was the heavily favored team to win the gold medal. During the men's game, the first round was extremely close. For the score to be final, one team has to be ahead at least two points from the other team when they reach 21 points. However, Russia and USA kept being one point from each other, and the score climbed up to 24-25. Then Russia spiked a ball in which USA missed and the score went up to 24-26 in Russia's favor.

During the second round, USA was a bit behind. The score was 14-20 at one point but then USA shot up to 19-20 against Russia. But USA missed one ball Russia sent over the net and the score ended up being 19-21. Russia won the gold while USA won the silver but both teams had good team spirit as they stood on the podium to receive their medals.

Water polo players slam Australia

Watch Video The men's water polo team had better luck in today's game than their opening game against Hungary yesterday.

They played against Australia. USA players moved on quickly from yesterday's game. They had a burst of energy and determination, slamming goal after goal in and creaming Australia.

There were no subs and they played their heart out. Chris Prewitt was excluded in the third period due to a penalty so that left six players for about 30 seconds until the next play was called and he got back in the game.
